Engine Mechanic
WRONG CLASSIFICATION FINALLY REGULATED
The position “Engine Mechanic” has been wrongly paid since first established on the “Maersk Innovator”. All personnel who have held this position will have their wages group changed from C to B. The regulation will be performed with pay back of all personnel involved and of course the personnel in the same position on the “Maersk Inspirer” will be encompassed.

When ”Maersk Innovator” arrived in Norway a position not yet acknowledged by “the Permanent Position Committee” (re Collective Agreement clause 4.1.5). Maersk Drilling Norge as (MDN) determined to grade this position in wage group “C”. For many years the Committee has concluded that MDN has regulated this position in the wrong wage group. The position is supposed to be in group “B”.

After years of there and back, MDN finally has decided and accepted the decision made by the Committee. This implies that all who hold or have held this particular position will have their wage group regulated from C to B. The decision made by the company will have retrospective effect and of course it will be related to personnel in same position on the “Maersk Inspirer”.

The company will adjust the wages from March 2010 and will pay the outstanding accounts on the next wages, by end of the month of March (April wages). MDN will inform the actual personnel. If anyone claims that MDN has not done calculations correctly, you may feel free to contact your Personnel Coordinator. If you have further questions you may contact MAF.
